Which is superior, natural stones or porcelains?

Before taking the last leap of faith, everyone asks oneself the same old questions.

Should I choose tiles made of natural stone or porcelain?

As a matter of fact, there are good reasons to choose any of these two wonderful options for your house, it just depends on your priorities, maintenance or visual appearance? Is it history and natural beauty, or is it accessibility, cost, and installation simplicity?

Our extensive expertise in the industry has led us to conclude that merely weighing the advantages and disadvantages of both kinds of material simplifies the consumer's choosing process.

I suppose you should ask yourself, "what is my budget?" first. Because man-made porcelain comes in a wide variety of finishes, shapes, sizes, and colours, and because the operational costs of manufacturing porcelain tiles are significantly lower, you will undoubtedly find a range that suits you at a lower cost, you will also have a greater selection of porcelain options than natural stones if your budget is tight. This is not to say that there aren't any excellent natural tiles available for less money, suppliers like us frequently have flash sales, which are a great way to purchase a high-quality natural stone at a significantly reduced price.

Of course, it is still possible to find a natural stone tile that meets your needs without having to wait for sales, it just usually takes a bit more patience and searching.

A bigger budget allows you to choose from a wider variety of materials as your next tiles, and as customers, we never seem to mind the hassle of having more options.

Price: How much can I afford?

How much do I have to spend? Am I able to purchase the more costly natural stones?

Since our available budget determines every project we undertake, these are both legitimate questions that we ask ourselves. We may be able to somewhat stretch our budget, but in the end, going overboard with your budget for your tiles may mean sacrificing other aspects of your project, so this needs to be carefully considered. The remainder of your project plan will be better managed if you first choose the best and most appropriate tile option for your budget.

Advantages and disadvantages.

Back to the pros and cons, these are the primary features of your new tiles that you should think about.
Natural beauty or ease of use/maintenance:

Do I want to lay my tiles and do very little maintenance work on the man-made porcelains, or do I want to preserve the natural stone for as long as possible by continually maintaining them with regular cleaning and sealing?

Porcelain is very easy to maintain, as you are probably already aware, after you lay porcelain tiles, you will probably need to mop it maybe once a week. You never need to seal them and can use more stronger cleaning solutions on porcelains.

However, with natural stone tiles, you must first seal your newly laid tiles and then reseal them at regular intervals, usually once a year or so. You must also make sure that the right cleaning solutions are used for cleaning natural stone, which can differ depending on the type of stone, such as marble and limestone.

Porcelain tiles are the obvious winner in the maintenance area.

Safety?

This mainly pertains to bathrooms or outdoor areas. While certain natural stones may have a rough surface to increase grip, they will never be anti-slip as the specially made, certified porcelain tiles that is normally preferred for bathrooms and outdoors.
Porcelain therefore triumphs once more when safety is your main priority.
Installation simplicity:
In this regard, porcelain is the material that is easiest to handle, cut, and resize. On the other hand, natural stones can be more delicate and frequently call for specialised equipment.

Porcelain tiles are the obvious choice if you have a picky tiler, but and this is a big BUT, the customer typically does not consider this part of any job unless you are laying your tiles yourself of course, so whether or not you have a picky tiler, if  you want real natural stone, you buy real natural stone.
So there is no clear winner in this case.

What are the patterns or print options?

When it comes to porcelain, the possibilities for creating distinctive prints are endless. For instance, our line of City wood effect porcelain range offers textured effects, which, of course, not only makes your tiles feel and look like wood, but it also makes long-term maintenance easier just to name one.

All claddings are composed of natural stone, which also comes in a variety of tile sizes and naturally gorgeous surfaces. And with other of our natural stone ranges, you get the ever-popular patterns like the French and Imperial Pattern.

To Clarify, porcelains come with many more surface prints whether for a natural look or picture like precise prints, if this is what you're after, however, the repeated prints means porcelains usually don't look natural if that is what you are after.
There is not really a clear winner in this part because each of us prefers a different look.
