Our New Dolomite Range

You will be mistaking to think it is just a funny name of a product, Dolomite is in fact a stone range on its own much like Marble, Limestone, Granite, Travertine and Sandstone.




It originates and is sourced from very similar environments as Limestone where calcium carbonate mud accumulates in the form of shell debris along with other elements however, with one major difference, it is actually a harder stone than limestone and even marble, well somewhere between marble and granite to be a bit more specific therefore holds up better to acids and etching than marble or calcite


Now that the boring stuff is out the way, where to use this special stone.


Firstly, our range:

Our Dolomite is available in 2 ranges the Sardis White Dolomite – Polished and Sardis Grey Dolomite – Polished that both come in the set size of 305 x 610 x 12mm.


The properties of Dolomite makes it best for use in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and pathways. You can mix and match between our white and grey range for installations in areas such as kitchens and hallways by putting one colour on the floors and the other on the walls, for bathroom installations you can simply go for that unified look on walls and floors using the same range, whatever you decide on one thing is certain, dolomite stones are not only very strong and durable and lasts longer compared to other similar products, they also give a bold and elegant look to your house because of its beauty.

DO's and DON'Ts Dolomite tiles (and all natural stones)


Some DO’s:
1.    Seal the tiles at least twice before use using polished tile sealer:


2.    Clean their surface regularly with the specifically manufactured cleaners.
3.    Clean up spills and stains immediately to minimize damage to your stone.
4.    Use trivets or mats under hot dishes and cookware if used as kitchen tops.
5.    Dust mop natural tiles on a regular basis.
6.    Use door mats inside and out and area rugs on natural floors for safety and cleanliness of the tiles.
 
Some definite DON’Ts:
1.    DON’T use cleaners that contain acid.
2.    DON’T use abrasive and/or dry cleaners.
3.    DON’T wait to clean up spills on stone (attend to it as speedily as possible)
4.    DON'T use alkaline cleaners not specifically formulated for stone.
