Q :I have read that one should use solvent based sealant for polished limestone and water based for honed limestone. Why would that be and why do you recommend solvent based? What solvent is it? What solvent can be used to removed it once its dried? Thanks for your help.

A :Hello, thank you for your question. The manufacturers of such product ensures that they are designed to be best suitable for the type of service they are to be used on, unfortunately, we would not know how they determine the solutions they use for each type of surface. You do not need to "remove" the applied sealer for natural stone only maybe wipe away any access with a soft dry clean cloth.

Q :Hello, I’m about to order some classic travertine for shower walls, hopefully matching them to the current floor which is shiney travertine. As the tiles I’m ordering are Matt, is it ok to seal with shiny sealant so they match the floor?
Thank you.

A :Hello Carolyn
Our LTP Ironwax Satin Slate Tile Sealer will add a bit of shine to natural stone tiles, with its effect getting stronger with multiple layers however, they can still look quite different than existing tiles you have installed. I hope this has been helpful.

Q :Hi,
What grout would you recommend with the Ivory Travertine?
12/04/2021
A :Hello,
Thank you for your question.
The grout is usually a customer preference, however customers tend to go for the ivory or beige mostly for travertine tiles.
Many thanks.

Q :We are having our travertine tiles (we purchased them from you at the beginning of March) fitted by our bathroom fitter. We understand that we will need to apply the LTP Mattstone impregnating sealer twice; but the instructions on the tin are not very precise.
Whats the best/normal way/order of doing this? Lay the tiles down on the adhesive THEN apply the first coat of sealer; THEN grout, THEN apply the second coat of sealer? OR, should we apply the first sealer coat on the individual tiles BEFORE we lay them down on the adhesive, THEN grout, THEN apply the second coat of sealer. Which method is best? Hope Ive explained this clearly! Thanks for your help

A :Hello Mr Jenkinson
Thank you for your order with us .
The sealer can be applied at various stages even before tiler starts working with them however, the most common time 2 coats are applied are once before grouting and once after grouting.
We hope this is helpful.
